We are happy to announce that Willie, the Alpine goat, is our Animal of the Month. If you have ever met Willie, you would know him by his great height. Even though he towers over our other goats, he really is a gentle giant. Willie is a happy-go-lucky goat that has lived at Clearwater Farm for the past twelve years. He was four months old when he arrived at the farm and donated by the Morgan family. At that time, numerous animal team members purchased goats and donated them to the farm. All of them have since passed away except for Willie, the last one to still reside at Clearwater. Twelve years old is beyond the typical life expectancy of a goat, and so we treasure all of the time we get to spend with Willie. He is very large for an Alpine goat and weighs in at 175 pounds! He has a gentle soul and is one of our friendliest goats. He loves to be brushed and is always close by when any fresh vegetables are shared with the animals. He doesn’t realize his own strength when pursuing a treat. It’s best to get out of his way as he is known to run over anything that gets in his way of food. He truly is lovable despite his pushy demeanor. Willie has been a wonderful resident of the farm and is known as one of the “favorites” to many animal team members. Stop by and meet our good ol’ friend Willie. He loves visitors.
