Sharing seeds can be fun and easy. Gardeners always want to try something new but aren’t sure they want to invest a lot of money with uncertain success. Try the free seeds at the Free Seed Bank at Clearwater Farm! You might obtain seeds for a plant you might not have previously considered as an option in your garden or the wild spaces in your neighborhood. It is simple: take a packet of seeds. If you wish, leave a packet of seeds if you have extra.
How to participate:
1. Stop by the small mailbox at the entrance to Clearwater Farm labeled: Free Seed Bank. Look over the packets of seed present. Take what you need, leave the rest for others.
2. If you want to contribute seeds, here is the list of priorities:
- Native seeds that will grow in our area.
- Heirloom varieties of vegetables or flowers.
- Extra garden seeds from this year or the past 2-3 years.
- Let’s avoid invasive or undesirable seeds.
3. When you drop off packets of seed, please also leave instructions on how to plant or grow the seeds.
