Over 50 kids experienced Summer Camp at Clearwater Farm in 2023! Campers spent each week learning about plants and animals at the farm, trying new foods, conducting experiments, and caring for the environment. A highlight of Summer Camp is always learning about and caring for the animals at the farm. This year, campers walked horses and goats, brushed donkeys, learned the parts of an egg, and made felt from wool that came from the sheep at the farm. Campers spent time in the garden every day watering, weeding, and harvesting, and everyone was able to try some new and healthy foods! Campers also learned about the natural environment surrounding the farm. They went for a hike on the Greens Coulee trails, where they observed nature using all of their senses. They also learned about the benefits of pollinators and bats. Campers learned the parts of a flower while tasting several samples of honey, and each week the campers built a bat house that will be placed at the farm. It’s great to see so many kids learning and having fun at Clearwater Farm!
